We are hiring a Fellow to lead the build-out of OpenBESS, our open modeling platform for battery energy storage systems, and its intersection with the engineering and project-finance domains. The work spans cell design, container architecture, and site design, reaching from individual cells and packs to grid-scale systems and their installed cost, availability, and project-finance outcomes. You will develop and validate multiscale models built on physical and engineering modeling, parametrization of real industrial systems, and a benchmarked reference library of deployed projects, mapping pathways from cell-level choices to the cost, performance, and finance metrics investors and developers use daily — and the places where innovation could unlock deployment at scale.
